Our Story

Protec is the manufacturing arm of the non-profit AIP Foundation, a 501(c)3 with offices in Tucson, Arizona, where our President & Founder Greig Craft grew up. For nearly 20 years, AIP Foundation/Protec has manufactured, tested, sold, and donated motorcycle and bicycle helmets to keep children and adults safe on roads around the world, while also employing people of all abilities in our facilities.

In response to the COVID pandemic, we began manufacturing disposable 4-ply face masks in our universally accessible, state-of-the-art Vietnam factory to fill the need for personal protective equipment (PPE), while also continuing to provide employment for our skilled and beloved workforce, many of whom are people with disabilities.

We are pleased to have both FDA registration and CE/EU certification for our masks. American Protec PPE is our mask distribution arm here in the U.S. American Protec PPE is proud to be listed on the COVID-19 Recovery Vendor List, published by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA).

Whether we are making helmets or masks, our mission has been -- and continues to be -- helping you and your loved ones get where you need to go (and back home) safely.

We are committed to donating masks to help essential healthcare workers. To date, we have donated over 60,000 masks (and additional gloves) to clinics and hospitals, and we will be donating at least 60,000 more in the near future. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation specifically to help our mask donation efforts, please email us at: contact@americanprotecppe.com

But remember, every box of masks you purchase is already helping us, because all of the proceeds from our sales go right back into our non-profit work. Thank you for buying good masks for a good cause!
